The Story
From the Living Room to the Ballot
About two weeks ago, a friend from the Indiana State House sent Sarah an email encouraging her to get on the ballot. Something she couldn't ignore moved in her heart.
“I felt like a sinner at a Billy Graham Crusade,” she says. “My heart was beating and I knew I had no other option but to rise from my seat and head for the altar.”
She did a quick search and explored her options: become a delegate, or run for U.S. Congress. Those who know Sarah are not surprised by her choice. She searched to see who else was on the ballot to challenge the incumbent — no one.
After intense soul searching and big conversations with her husband Josh and their kids, they said yes.
“As a mom of 15 and grandma of 5, I sense a deep realization that the responsibility to steward the American Dream and pass the torch to future generations belongs to me. I hope you feel the same.”
